A target we calculate. An allocation you control.

Wealth allocation by asset class on Finary

In June, Finary started looking forward: defining what you are aiming for, not just recording what you have already built. August takes that one step further by putting the decisions back in your hands.

This month, three new features putting you in charge: a target capital computed for you, asset classes you can finally compare, and self-directed management on your Finary Life contract.

Goals: from a target you guess to the one we compute

The most popular goal among our users is to become financially independent. Yet it used to be the hardest one to set: how much capital do you actually need to stop working? And how long do you need to wait for it?

We now work that out for you, based on your age, the passive income you'd like and the assets you allocate to it. Hundreds of Monte Carlo simulations show how realistic your target is.

Goals are now available on web too: you can see all your objectives, their progress and whether you're on track from your desktop. Creating and editing goals stays on mobile for now, and comes to web shortly.

Compare how each part of your portfolio has evolved

Your wealth is rarely in one kind of investment: securities, crypto, real estate, euro funds. Which raises a simple question: how did your crypto do against your securities last month?

You can now answer it directly. On web, your allocation chart is interactive: group your wealth by asset class, then click one class to follow its own curve, or several to weigh them against each other over the period you pick. Or go finer, down to a single account or property. On mobile, the same breakdown is available on your allocation donut.

Also new: your unrealized P&L now shows its variation over that period.

This is a first step for your wealth view. We're now working on more depth: a view by holding, built on finer classes. This will allow you to track your exposure to a given holding (e.g. Bitcoin) across different wallets & exchanges.

Finary Life: switch to self-directed management

The most requested feature on Finary Life is here: switch your contract to self-directed management and build your allocation from over 700 funds (ETFs, stocks, thematic funds, private equity...), directly from Finary. Choose the Arbitrage action, set your target allocation, confirm: we handle the rest with Generali.

The operation is free and takes 3 to 5 business days. Once self-directed, adjust your allocation whenever you want. It's a one-way choice: switching back to profiled management isn't available.

Investing in unit-linked funds involves a risk of capital loss, as their value may fluctuate up or down depending on financial market conditions. The insurer commits to the number of units, not their value, which it does not guarantee. Past performance is not indicative of future results and is not constant over time.

All three point in the same direction: giving you the means to decide, not only to observe. Next up are the view by holding and creating goals on the web. Share your feedback on the community, the team reads every message.
